for everyone
Here's a link: A Comprehensive And Totally Universal Listing Of Every Problem A Story Has Ever Had. It numbers them 1 to 25, with Problem 1 being more prevalent than Problem 25. Go on, read, and enjoy a good laugh, especially if you find problems that apply to your work!

The above link is care of Breaking Camp's Twitter.

("Breaking Camp's Twitter"?! Ever since "Frank Miller's Peanuts"--including the comments section--I've been writing phrases that just sound wrong. Must...break...pattern...somehow...naah...too...much...fun).

Why do I feel like "Frank Miller's Peanuts" will somehow be awesome?

"It's a long time coming and the world is not what it used to be.

She killed my dog, raped my manhood, and kept that ball away every damn time!

Lucy must die!"

I've been told I have number 2 a few times, hay...

@ekmisao: Heh. ;-P Ok lang 'yan. We all have that.

Better that than constipation, and I'm not referring to writing. (Hope you get the joke).

While I agree that there should be an "Other" category there to explain all the rejected works that don't fit into any of the prescribed issues, I still feel that it's a cop-out somehow. It puts a dubious end to an interesting article, a closing statement that says, "Despite all these, we still reserve the right to reject stuff because we don't like it."

Heh. But yeah, there is a subjective element to all of this. Go figure.

While I don't deny that there has to be a subjective element (sort of like the element of randomicity that creeps into practical physics), I don't like its inclusion as a definite item on the list. It could have been entered as a separate disclaimer, or something.
